The Spartanburg Jazz Ensemble is big-band style jazz band based in Spartanburg, SC. We were formed in 1996 and are affiliated with the Spartanburg Community Band. The band is comprised of members from all walks of life who are brought together by the love of jazz music. The band plays a wide variety of concerts each year, ranging from more formal indoor concerts to outdoor jazz festivals and concerts. Over the past year, we have played numerous concerts, including the Ice Cream Sundays series at USC Upstate, the Greenville Main Street Jazz series, and the Furman University Lakeside Concert Series.. We also play private events and dances. If you are interested in booking the band for a private function, please contact us by email. The Spartanburg Jazz Ensemble and Spartanburg Community Band are non-profit organizations that rely on individual and corporate donations for the bulk of our budget.
